Established in 1979, the Gate Theatre is known for producing trailblazing international theatre that asks essential questions about ourselves, each other and the world. Across our forty-year history, our intimate performance space in Notting Hill has completely transformed with each production - welcoming artists who want to experiment and play, and ensuring no two visits are ever the same for our loyal audiences. We want to make the most adventurous, exciting international theatre in equal collaboration with our local diverse communities.

Our Learning Offer

Delivering workshops, shows and artistic programmes to different stakeholders including audiences, schools, community groups and more in Camden and in the wider city.

Example Project

'Open Gate' projects are run alongside our productions. We deliver young people's nights for those under the 30s hosted by Young Associates where young people can meet the cast and network. Our Young Associates' project is a company of 15 young writers, performers, directors, artists and dancers aged 17-23. We also run community workshops as part of our Open Gate programme. We also deliver a series of events'Gate Lates' and public workshops around the shows to encourage the public to get involved in the creation process of the process to see how a show is curated and more.
