Donmar Warehouse
A not-for-profit theatre presenting important stories, thrillingly told, and widely shared.
Our Learning Offer
We have two different theatre programmes delivering workshops in schools, with the opportunity to see a show at our theatre. One of these also involves the students performing work they have devised, with the help of an artist, on the Donmar stage. We also have multiple programmes for young people that we ask schools we work with to share with their students. This includes a work experience programme, workshops (writing and performance) or theatre-making taking place at our theatre.
Example Project
Our Take the Stage programme consists of seven in-school workshops with an artist in which students will devise a piece of theatre. Students will explore one or several themes in relation to the play the Donmar is currently showing, but also allowing the students creative control. Around half way through the project, the students have a Masterclass day in which they do several workshops with experts in these fields (eg writing, performance skills), and the students see the play they've been basing their work on. The project ends with a showcase, where the schools taking part perform their work to each other, on the Donmar stage.
